304 / 304L - Rolled Alloys, Inc.
304 / 304L. 304 is the original "18-8" stainless. It is produced in greater quantity than any other austenitic stainless steel. 304 provides useful resistance to corrosion in many environments ranging from moderately reducing to moderately oxidizing. Through the controlled addition of nitrogen, it is common for 304L to meet the mechanical properties of 304 straight grade. 304 L Stainless Steel Strip for Manufacturing - UNS S30403 304l stainless steel hot rolled coil FormingCold Forming . 304L is ductile and can be cold worked by stamping, drawing, bending or forming methods. Heat Treatment . 304L cannot be heat treated for hardness. Hardness can only be achieved by cold working. Welding . For best results refer to: SSINA's "Welding of Stainless Steels and Other Joining Methods".

annealed condition, Types 304 and 304L are very ductile and can be cold worked easily by roll forming, deep drawing, bending, and other in-process annealing may be necessary to restore ductility and to lower hardness. FORMABILITY Types 304 and 304L can be readily formed and drawn. The higher 304L Stainless Steel - Penn StainlessAlloy 304L a T-300 series stainless steel austenitic, which has a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Type 304L has a carbon maximum is 0.030. It is the standard 18/8 stainless that is commonly found in pans and cooking tools. Alloys 304L is the most versatile and widely used alloy in the stainless steel family. 304l Stainless Steel Hot Rolled Coil Forming - Image ResultsCore 304L/4306 is a higher nickel alternative to Core 304L/4307 with improved formability and 304l stainless steel hot rolled coil Forming
